What We’re Looking For:

What you’ll be working on:
Benefits & Compliance Management:
- Administer all employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability), ensuring adherence to ACA, COBRA, and other relevant regulations.
- Manage benefits enrollments, terminations, changes, and lead the annual Open Enrollment process.
- Oversee Leave of Absence in partnership with the TILT program.
- Drive organizational HR compliance by interpreting employment laws, implementing policy updates, and mitigating risks.
- Ensure data/compliance integrity through regular audits and reviews.
- Provide expert guidance to leadership on complex compliance matters.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency within HR processes, continuously evolving workflows.
- Document processes for internal training and external self-service.
- Implement automated workflows to streamline HR operations.
Payroll & Workers' Compensation Administration:
- Provide essential support to the payroll team, ensuring accurate processing and regulatory compliance.
- Administer the company’s workers’ compensation program, in partnership with The Hartford.
Immigration:
- Manage the full immigration process for foreign national employees, including visa applications, work permits, and green card petitions.
- Advise team members and managers on immigration policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and providing education on immigration trends.
HRIS Management and Data Analytics:
- Optimize and manage the HRIS system (preferably UKG) to ensure data integrity and process efficiency.
- Implement automated workflows to streamline HR operations.
- Utilize data analytics to identify trends, predict future needs, and inform strategic HR decisions.
- Generate workforce reports on headcount, attrition, and other key metrics.
- Develop and maintain insightful HR dashboards to track key metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
HR Service Delivery and Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency within HR processes, continuously evolving workflows.
- Document processes for internal training and external self-service.
- Implement automated workflows to streamline HR operations.
- Maintain and enhance the HR Help Desk (HRSD) to provide timely and effective support to team members, developing self-service resources.
- Support People Support initiatives, including building a Knowledge Base and policy repository.
- Monitor and analyze HRSD tickets to provide trends to leadership.
HR Service Delivery & General HR Support:
- Provide comprehensive general HR support, including team member record-keeping, policy administration, and contribution to people support projects.

Why you’d be a great fit:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Human Resources and HR compliance
- Experience in payroll support, benefit management or people operations is a plus
- Intermediate knowledge of HR best practices, policies and procedures
- Preferred experience in healthcare or veterinary care
- PHR certification or SHRM preferred
- Operate with high emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills
- Enthusiasm for solution-oriented thinking
- Customer Focus: Exceed customer (team member) expectations, quality of products, services, and experience always present of mind
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in HRIS software (preferably UKG) and Google Suite is a plus
- Passion for animal welfare and the veterinary industry

Role Requirements:
- Hybrid role: 3 days in-office (Culver City, CA) and 2 days remote
- Based in Los Angeles, CA
- Ability to travel up to 10% to various clinic locations (currently, SF, TX, AZ, and CO, with future growth expected)

The pay range for this position is $69,000 - $90,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and equity grant units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the California Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on geographic location.
