This is an exciting time to join Model N as we’ve just been acquired by Vista Equity Partners and have an ambitious plan to drive more scale, growth, breadth of solutions, and value for our customers.
 
The successful Vice President, Application Services will be an experienced professional services leader with a proven ability to manage sales and delivery for a suite managed services on behalf of many of our largest and most complex customers. The ideal candidate will have experience across all facets of professional and managed services including prospecting, sales pipeline development, quoting, service delivery, solution design and packaging, escalation management, churn mitigation, budgeting/ forecasting, and managing the overall P&L.  You will be the de facto head and general manager for this line of business and responsible for driving its overall growth, profitability, and world-class service delivery as well as representing Application Services as a high impact member of the Global Customer Success Leadership Team and Model N’s Senior Leadership Team.  This position reports directly to the Chief Services Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a global team of professional services and technical consultants in the U.S. and India
  • Ownership of Application Services line of business P&L and financial performance. Meet or exceed financial targets for bookings, revenue, and margin. 
  • Hire, develop and retain a world-class team of consultants and technical resources
  • Drive sales and prospecting activities working in partnership with Model N’s global account management team
  • Actively manage sales pipeline and reporting
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations on quality and timeliness of all activities and deliverables in accordance with SLAs for Model N’s Application Services offerings
  • Interface with executive-level customer business and IT sponsors and act as the Model N executive sponsor for key accounts including escalation management
  • Anticipate customer needs and initiate and develop solutions and capabilities
  • Work cross-functionally across the company including Sales, Product Development, Product Management, Customer Support, and Professional Services

Key Skills:

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Science, or related technical field; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise applications across professional and/or managed services
  • Proven leadership experience of managing large technical teams
  • Understanding of life sciences industry and compliance requirements
  • Experience in working with large and complex customers
  • Builds trust and rapport quickly at all levels, both internal and with customers, including senior management
  • Creative problem-solver with ability to inspire teams and drive for results
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel (10-20%)
