Principal Consultant, Rebate and Fees

Model N is hiring a Principal Consultant, Rebate and Fees for our Business Services team. The Principal Consultant will play an essential role in supporting Commercial Rebate and Fee processing, including GPO, provider, and other sales or performance-based contracts for our life science customer base. Reporting into the Associate Director, Business Services, the Rebate and Fees Principal Consultant is a subject matter expert that other operation team members may query and receive advice and guidance with questions in their area of expertise. This role can be fully remote.  

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing client relationships (interface w/clients to resolve specific issues)
  • Responsible for review and approval of the setup and maintenance of customer contracts and membership management within Model N systems.
  • Ensure rebates and fees are processed and paid according to contractual requirements
  • Lead, review and approve rebate and fee calculation deliverables to client.
  • Oversee the analysis and review of monthly and quarterly deliverables to ensure reports are submitted in accordance with contract terms.
  • Ability to handle complex and/or varying types of pharmaceutical rebate & fee agreements including Providers, GPOs, wholesalers, distributors, specialty pharmacies, and retail.
  • Respond to customer and client inquiries regarding processing status, reconciliation questions, data discrepancies and payment status.
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop commercial rebate and fee Analysts.
  • Support ongoing software product testing
  • Stay current and provide business guidance internally and to customers related to the life science’s Commercial and/or regulatory landscape.
  • Expected to continually build detailed subject matter expertise and thought leadership in commercial contracting and share this knowledge with direct reports and peer groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry working with commercial rebate and fee agreements is required.
  • Experience working in mandated deadline environment; effective management of multiple client assignments; ability to prioritize
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • High accuracy rate and attention to detail; ability to produce client-ready deliverables to a high-level executive/professional client base.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products required and knowledge of advance Excel techniques such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data importing are desired.
  • Experience in and ability to learn standard industry systems environment
  • Able to manage multiple and competing tasks across functional areas is essential
  • Technical ability to understand underlying data structures and deal with large amounts of data
  • Experience achieving and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal and operational rules and procedures by ensuring that all plans and activities are met with “best” industry practices.

Positions are eligible to participate in either our employee bonus program or commission payments, depending on the nature of the role.
