MLB’s Content Distribution team is responsible for the distribution and monetization of MLB’s local rights, Direct-to-Consumer products, and MLB/NHL Network across both traditional and digital platforms. We are seeking a candidate at the Senior Director level to lead partnership management and strategy, including deal execution and ongoing fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in structuring and executing linear and digital distribution deals across both traditional linear cable and direct-to-consumer products.
Responsibilities
- Local distribution: Lead and support distribution of MLB Media’s growing portfolio of MLB club rights with traditional and virtual MVPDs, including:

- Working closely with other members of the Content Distribution team to develop MLB’s ongoing strategy with respect to local rights distribution, including creation of executive-level presentations and research
- Preparation of deal materials leading up to and throughout key renewals
- Negotiation and execution of linear distribution agreements with traditional and virtual MVPDs
- Ongoing fulfillment and support of existing partnerships
- Working closely with Content Distribution and streaming/product teams to identify and support business and revenue goals through our partnerships with key accounts
- Negotiation of renewals with key digital partners
- Identifying and executing upon new business opportunities to drive incremental reach and revenue
- Ongoing fulfillment and support of existing partnerships
Qualifications
- At least ten (10) years’ experience leading media content partnerships with traditional and digital distribution partners across both linear and DTC products
- Experience in local/RSN linear rights negotiations with traditional and virtual MVPDs
- Strong understanding of and experience with deal structuring within the linear local sports media landscape
- Experience in DTC platform and connected device negotiations
- Strong industry relationships built over years of partner management and deal negotiations
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field is required; , MBA/JD preferred
- Must possess excellent analytical and communication skills
- Detail oriented and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced, high-exposure environment
- Great teammate with strong project management and organizational skills
- Curious businessperson with the ability to develop creative solutions
Pay Range: $180,000 - $240,000
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
