Lead Operations Attendant (Part-Time):

As a Lead Operations Attendant you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the Jackie Robinson Training Complex operates at peak performance for athletic and non-athletic events. From preparing our top-tier facilities to supporting athletic field operations and VIP experiences, you’ll be a cornerstone in creating seamless events and day-to-day excellence.

In this role, you’ll serve as a crew lead, guiding a team of part-time Operations Attendants and Interns and helping them follow Standard Operating Procedures and deliver high-quality service. Whether you’re coordinating clubhouse operations, assisting with event setups and breakdowns, or ensuring field readiness, you’ll be at the heart of what makes the JRTC an elite destination.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Coordinator, Operations, and full-time Lead, Operations to mentor Operations Attendants and Interns.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while maintaining safety and efficiency across operations.
  • Oversee the completion of function sheets by Operations Attendants and Interns, ensuring event-specific needs are met.
  • Assist with clubhouse readiness, including locker room organization, minor cleaning, and laundry tasks. Act as a clubhouse attendant for select groups to deliver outstanding guest service.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Coordinator, Operations, and Lead, Operations to prepare locker rooms, storage areas, training rooms, and auxiliary sleeping quarters.
  • Assist with furniture and equipment movement across the JRTC, following event-specific needs.
  • Position barricades, cones, and signage to manage event traffic effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of hydration stations on athletic fields.
  • Assist with package deliveries, including inventorying, organizing, and transitioning packages to appropriate storage or shipment locations.
  • Provide transportation for VIP’s including to and from the airport on occasion.
  • Assist with setup and operation of audio-visual equipment for internal and external events, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Assist with the set up and breakdown of social events, ensuring they're executed flawlessly.
  • Monitor and remove garbage from facility grounds, with an emphasis on exterior areas, to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Assist and oversee the cleaning and maintenance of dugouts before and after use, adhering to SOPs.
  • Lead regular seating bowl cleaning at Holman Stadium and at the Quad.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Coordinator, Operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • The preferred candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working in facility or athletic operations.
  • Ability to manage one’s own time and the time of others.  Supervisory experience of at least 1 year strongly preferred.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter who will work as a team player and will also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of the game of baseball preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and excellent driving record.
  • Ability to lift boxes and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including excessive heat and humidity.
  • Ability to pull tarp when necessary.

The Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC), operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) located in Vero Beach, Florida, serves as a year-round hub for amateur development initiatives and events designed to diversify and strengthen the talent pipelines of baseball and softball.
