Lead Attendant, Operations (Full-Time):

Step into a pivotal role at the iconic Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC), operated by Major League Baseball (MLB). As the Lead Attendant, Operations, you'll be at the forefront of orchestrating the heartbeat of our facility, ensuring every event, whether athletic or non-athletic, unfolds seamlessly. Be involved in a wide range of facility operations functions – from overseeing our state-of-the-art clubhouses to assisting with athletic field support services, and more – you'll be the driving force behind the JRTC's operational excellence.

 Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Coordinator, Operations to mentor and guide the Operations Attendants & Interns.
  • Develop and implement training programs for Operations Attendants focusing on equipment, safety, and operational best practices.
  • Assist in crafting detailed specifications for event setups and breakdowns, ensuring a high level of detail and consistency.
  • Lead regular briefings with Operations Attendants & Interns, ensuring the team is aligned with event-specific needs.
  • Oversee clubhouse operations, including organization of locker rooms, laundry, and minor cleaning tasks. 
  • Act as clubhouse attendant when required for specific groups, ensuring superior guest service.
  • Spearhead the arrangement and preparation of all facilities, including but not limited to JRTC & MLB storage rooms, locker rooms, training rooms, and auxiliary sleeping quarters.
  • Coordinate the movement and setup of furniture and equipment throughout the JRTC.
  • Oversee hydration stations at athletic fields, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Strategically place barricades, cones, and signs to guide event traffic.
  • Assist in package deliveries which includes the management of MLB shipments to and from the facility.
  • Provide transportation for VIP’s including to and from the airport on occasion. 
  • Maintain positive relationships with all Information Technology staff.  Facilitate setup of all audio-visual needs for groups and JRTC internal events (indoors and outdoors).  
  • Foster positive relationships with MLB personnel from other offices and other stakeholders. 
  • Assist with the set up and breakdown of social events, ensuring they're executed flawlessly.
  • Assist in monitoring and removing garbage around the facility grounds, with a focus on exterior locations, to maintain a clean and inviting environment for guests.
  • Schedule and oversee cleaning of dugouts prior to and after use, in alignment with standard operation procedures.  
  • Coordinate regular seating bowl cleaning at Holman Stadium.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • The preferred candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working in facility or athletic operations.
  • Ability to manage one’s own time and the time of others.  Supervisory experience of at least 1 year strongly preferred.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter who will work as a team player and will also be able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Knowledge of the game of baseball preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and excellent driving record.
  • Ability to lift boxes and equipment up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to pull tarp when necessary.

The Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC), operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) located in Vero Beach, Florida, serves as a year-round hub for amateur development initiatives and events designed to diversify and strengthen the talent pipelines of baseball and softball. We are the permanent home to several signature youth-focused events and programs, such as the Nike RBI World Series and the Hank Aaron Invitational, which teach players how to succeed on and off the field. The historic facility, formerly known as Dodgertown, was renamed Jackie Robinson Training Complex in honor of its trailblazing namesake.
