The Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.) is a nonprofit organization that confidentially assists members of the Baseball Family in need of financial, medical or psychological assistance. 

Job Description: 

Provide support to the Executive Director, Director and Sr. Manager pertaining to the operations of the Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.) Works closely with the staff to assist in the overall grant making process and the multi-million dollar Payroll Deduction Program. Performs all administrative duties for the department as needed. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct calls from the B.A.T. hotline (7822) and respond to incoming and outgoing emails associated with BAT@mlb.com (in Spanish or English).
  • Coordinate the content, distribution and production of the B.A.T. brochure, website and social media accounts. 
  • Responsible for on-going grant management tasks that includes preparing, assessing and evaluating cases. Compiles the complete financial & personal backgrounds in addition to making a recommendation/presentation of each case to the grant, crisis or scholarship committees.
  • Serves as a Spanish translator (documents and emails) for the Executive Director & Director when needed.
  • Assist Coordinator with the preparation and distribution of tax acknowledgement letters.
  • Supports the team by performing tasks related to the organization.

Experience/Skills/Requirements:

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish, English) preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Professional demeanor, organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong organization, analytical, impersonal and communication skills. 
  • Extensive multi-tasking skills and experience managing deliverables with time-sensitive deadlines. 
  • Non-profit event & grant management preferred. 

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $23.00 to $27.00 The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
