The Role: As an integral member of the executive team, the Vice President & General Manager, Sales executes and maintains a sales plan and strategy for achieving annual quotas and revenue targets for the company's products and services. The VP of Sales enhances the company’s strategic decisions by providing key market intelligence based on interactions with clients, prospects, and other market players. The VP of Sales will manage sales teams by strategically driving revenue growth and increasing margins within their assigned region.
Your Focus:
- Develop and articulate a coherent sales strategy for multiple market segments across multiple channels
- Responsible for forecasting and achieving quarterly targets, sales plans, compensation structures, and customer segmentation
- Communicate corporate strategy, provide direction and remove barriers to allow the sales force to increase revenues
- Responsible for driving the consistent and accurate use of sales automation utilities
- Play a key role on the senior management team, significantly contributing to the overall corporate strategy
- Provide guidance and leadership to create excitement in the sales organization
- Enhance team performance skills through mentoring and training through the sales process via the Cadence Calls
- Identify, attract, develop and retain world class sales talent to the organization
Required Experience and Skills:

You should also bring the following:
- Bachelor's degree
- Track record of success as VP of Sales in a multi-million dollar, multi-division global technology company
- Prior experience building a world-class sales organization for organizations with revenues in excess of $500 million, preferably in the Business Intelligence space
- Prior experience developing sales strategies and methodologies to facilitate rapid growth
- Reputation as “Industry Leader” who possesses passion and leadership ability to propel company to forefront in performance and revenue generation
- Ability to develop key partnerships with Fortune 1,000 accounts
- Ability to build excitement and exude passion around the sales process
- Someone who brings marquee value with the ability to establish relationships and alliances with OEM, strategic partners, systems integrators, and service companies, a well as possessing a strong understanding of end-user requirements
- Understands, embraces and champions the MicroStrategy culture and values, both inside and outside the organization
- Strong leadership skills with strategic and tactical abilities
- Strong resilience coupled with the ability to build a “change agenda”
- The ability to overcome obstacles/barriers and has worked within an organization that has attained significant international stature while retaining entrepreneurial spirit
