XR Codec Interactions and Avatars brings together a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to create the future of augmented and virtual reality. On this team, you'll work in collaboration with engineers and researchers to capture, store, and process the large amounts of data needed to enable new Interactions and Codec Avatars.In this Systems Engineer role, you will be integrating and verifying various custom hardware and software solutions for diverse data capture scenarios. You will be responsible for the intake of requirements from researchers and engineers, work with Technical Program Manager's to manage program schedules, identify risks and associated mitigation plans, and clearly communicate to program stakeholders. Communication and technical aptitude are critical in this role as you will be the liaison between researchers, operations teams, and electrical/mechanical/firmware/software engineers.

Systems Verification Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and execute integration testing strategy for capture stack, resolving any ambiguity with Software/Firmware/Hardware interfaces.
  • Accountable for the technical verification of early stage data capture stack where documentation is sparse, ambiguity is high, and system robustness is not at production level.
  • Responsible for contributing to system improvements to improve efficiency of running pilot captures, including collaboration with partner teams to enact these changes.
  • Drive the quality for a product/feature, assess risks to and ensure shipping features with a high quality bar.
  • Implement and evolve integration testing processes to scale testing efforts across multiple collections.
  • Partner closely with engineering and operations teams to leverage automation, prevent regressions and ensure reliability of product.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working independently, handling concurrent projects where timelines may be ambiguous or changing, and prioritizing team roadmap and deliverables by balancing required effort with resulting impact.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems integration including verification testing, functional testing, system health monitoring and triage management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading others to execute short form initiatives and leveraging breadth of skills to fill in gaps.
  • System synchronization - Develop options for how we're phase locking the different systems, as well as the time-stamping methodology.
  • System calibration - Solving the geometric, and potentially photometric challenges between systems.
  • Linux operating system and command line interfaces.
  • Bash and python scripting.

$111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
