Meta is hiring a Sustainability Program Manager on the Supplier Strategy team. We seek a teammate to drive net zero engagement for Meta's suppliers. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to scale net zero engagement, support Meta's key suppliers in reducing their Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions, and improve carbon visibility into existing procurement strategy and processes. This role will partner with internal teams, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to implement the strategy as part of Meta delivering on its net zero in its value chain by 2030 goal.
Supplier Strategy Program Manager, Net Zero Responsibilities:
- Analyze supplier spend and emission intensity to develop and improve strategies to engage with Meta's key suppliers in reducing their scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions and meeting their emissions reduction and renewable energy goals.
- Develop a playbook for a scaled supplier engagement program and propose automation and outsourcing opportunities
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement process and technology solutions that will integrate carbon as a key criterion in sourcing/procurement decisions.
- Work directly with Meta's Sourcing teams and key suppliers to understand roadblocks against reducing Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions and to provide support through decarbonization solutions and capacity building (in partnership with Meta net zero team).
- Support data analysis and approach to solutions specific to spend categories, enabling business stakeholders to decarbonize the value chain.
- Deliver insights to the Net Zero team and cross-functional stakeholders on solutions effectiveness.
- Effectively communicate program progress internally, including developing collateral for and participating in executive communications.
- Represent Meta externally, as needed.
- Capacity to travel (10%)

- Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain Operations, or similar degree.
- 6+ years of experience in fields related to net zero, supplier engagement or category management.
- Working knowledge of at least two of the following spend categories: professional services, outsourcing, media, ad production, software.
- Working knowledge of GHG accounting principles and methods.
- Experience playing coordinating/leadership role in building partnerships with internal stakeholders in a corporate environment.
- Technical knowledge of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal interdisciplinary teams as well as external stakeholders
- Experience influencing across an organization with indirect authority
- A self starter, with a proven record to diplomatically resolve issues through understanding conflicting inputs, achieving alignment, and proposing go-forward solutions
- Experience to diplomatically resolve issues through understanding conflicting inputs, achieving alignment, and proposing go-forward solutions.
- Master's degree in related field is strongly preferred
- Experience engaging suppliers directly in reducing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
- Experience in sustainability consulting and leading engagements with corporate clients
- Familiarity in industry and geography challenges and opportunities in energy efficiency, and low carbon opportunities in services sectors.
- Understanding of global and sectoral sustainability initiatives.

$111,000/year to $162,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
