The Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing Group at Meta Reality Labs ("RL") is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Wearables Display & Optics to drive impact and deliver results in highly innovative RL devices. The position scope includes identifying, selection and development of long term partnerships for new products and new technologies through early engagement across cross-functional partners, aligning external partner strategy to internal product roadmap needs, managing internal and external book of business tied to the domain, and to deliver best-in-class optical components and modules meeting Meta product requirements at the right time, at the right speed, and at the right cost. An ideal candidate will be a high-energy/impact individual with a demonstrated experience to succeed in a high demand and fast-paced environment, navigating through ambiguities/difficult obstacles through facts & data, evaluation of alternatives, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, and superior communications to influence cross-functional organizations decision-making.

Strategic Sourcing Manager - Wearables, Display and Optics Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage and support new technology exploration, collaborate with cross functional partners on creating a long term Technology Roadmap mapping closely with Product Roadmaps, and advise/recommend to the executive team a clear partner/supplier strategy
  • Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Meta supply chain
  • Support and drive technology partner engagement strategy ensuring suppliers capabilities match Meta's current and future technical and business requirements
  • Partner and work with a cross-functional team to drive the supplier selection process (own RFx) and component qualification both under strict engineering and commercial best practices/disciplines
  • Work with engineering teams to engineer manufacturing and process technology solutions that best aligns with our technology partners
  • Experience in drafting development deals to kick start new relationships, and also to preserve a long term view to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
  • Drive supplier and site readiness activities for NTI and NPI programs leading to successful product launch with the experience in delivering the required volumes at launch. This includes coverage across operational, commercial and legal domains
  • Drive product cost and negotiate competitive pricing while keeping in mind the total cost of ownership including product cost, CapEx, logistics, inventory and cost of quality
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the consumer electronics or tech industry and experience scaling technologies
  • 3+ years of experience in product or process definition, having taken a module or system from concept stage into mass production
  • Experience working embedded with hardware and systems engineering throughout product development process of technology products
  • Experience building relationships with engineering, product management, and other cross-functional partners and drive discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features vs. value trade-offs
  • Data-driven problem solving skills to address multi-dimensional problems with high levels of uncertainty across multiple functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline
  • 5+ years experience working on New Technology Introduction (NTI)
  • 5+ years experience in engineering sensing / optics / display technologies
  • Experience building relationships with engineering, operations, product management, and other cross-functional partners and drive discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features vs. value trade-offs

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
