The Surreal Vision research group at RL Research is seeking exceptional engineers and technical leads to solve the next generation of research challenges on the path to building future machine perception enabled technologies.The engineering organization is responsible for testing and assessing readiness of new prototypes from a correctness perspective. We are seeking a Software QA Engineer who can work across a broad set of research systems and prototypes to help drive development of automated test coverage, measurement, and effectiveness of features. You will be responsible for working with engineering teams to design and implement automation infrastructure for scalability as well helping prototype and test development. This individual should have the technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the understanding of key principles to design and apply technical solutions to research challenges. And demonstrated track record of seeking out and interacting closely with project stakeholders across the company.

Software QA Engineer - Reality Labs Research Engineering Responsibilities:
- Contribute to engineering efforts to solve complex testing problems by designing and developing scalable test automation framework
- Develop reliable automated tests for devices and system software to detect early bug signals
- Investigate automated test failures to ensure high signal from our automated tests
- Develop and track measurements to understand and drive test effectiveness and coverage
- Partner with peer Quality Assurance Engineers, Software Engineers and Hardware Engineers to identify and develop automated tests, tools and test harnesses to perform testing effectively
- Independently drives strategic planning, reporting, proactive issue resolution and risk mitigation.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- 3+ years of experience in test automation and debugging of system software and/or hardware.
- Experience with developing and analyzing technical automated test frameworks and infrastructure, black box or white box testing,
- Demonstrated experience in programming skills in Python, JavaScript, Java or equivalent language.
- Relevant work experience, including development and/or test automation experience.
- Experience with consumer electronics, System SW+FW testing and CI tools.
- Experience in test-driven development, debugging, building tools and testing frameworks.
- Experience in improving testing effectiveness and coverage.
- Experience with QA strategy development and execution
- Experience reporting progress and results to stakeholders
- Experience developing test automation test code and using industry leading tools (Postman, IDEs, Terminal, Selenium, etc.) and frameworks that can simulate complex multi-system scenarios
- Experience with automation testing types to include (Unit, Functional, Integration, End-to-End)
