Our teams explore, develop, and deliver new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future AR/VR products.We are seeking a Software Engineer with a background in graphics and image rendering pipeline to drive the development of a cross-platform character system to support mobile devices, VR, AR, and Mixed Reality headsets. You will be working closely with our researchers and developers to optimize and develop a next-generation character system capable of representing billions of people. To satisfy the demanding needs of immersive experiences, you are expected to solve a range of technical challenges in the areas of rendering, user interaction, asset pipelines, tooling, and performance optimization.

Software Engineer - Graphics (Technical Leadership) Responsibilities:
- Drive the organization goal towards a world-class multi-platform character system.
- Effectively communicate to leadership team and the industry partners complex features & systems.
- Understand industry and Meta wide technology trends in computing technology to help assess & develop new technologies within the Reality Labs family.
- Suggest, collect and synthesize requirements and create an effective feature roadmap towards mobile, AR and VR product lines.
- Invent next-generation platforms to deliver more compelling avatar experiences on VR and AR headsets.
- 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: computer graphics or image processing or character systems
- Experience in driving cross-functional partnerships, working across functions to drive solutions
- Experience in fundamentals of character systems and cross-platform portability
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Have developed or modified a character system for games or entertainment
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field
- Experience with human vision science
- ML Graphics experience
