We are seeking an enthusiastic Software Development Manager to lead a team of software engineers while proactively driving the vision for software engineering across the entire legal organization at Meta. Our Legal Analytics, Data, & Development team in Global Legal Operations and Strategy (GLOS) is passionate about working with cross-functional teams to improve their operational efficiency through the development of tooling and infrastructure. This person will be responsible for engaging a multitude of stakeholders in and outside of Meta's Legal department, to formulate and drive the execution of cutting-edge technical solutions to an array of emerging problems.

- Partner with our Legal, Product, Integrity, and Engineering teams to identify opportunities, translate needs, organize and prioritize resources, and directly plan and drive technical solutions
- Customize, maintain, and expand existing internal software solutions for a diverse set of operational teams
- Experiment with emerging Meta technologies to develop future solutions
- Help devise, create, and implement tooling and systems across the legal organization
- Hire and manage highly skilled software engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development to the members of the team
- Drive all technical aspects of the development including technical requirements definition, system design, implementation, unit testing, and integration
- Display effective organization skills, execution, and overall planning of multiple and sometimes competing technical priorities in an evolving environment
- Drive standardization of team's best practices and methodologies that balance organizational needs and align to broader engineering partner best practices
- Work closely with frontline analysts to understand the processing and operational needs of various teams within Legal
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 8+ years of experience with software or applications development. Proven track record of architecting and building software systems at scale.
- 3+ years of experience hiring and managing software engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development to the members of the team
- Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, Hack, PHP, Python, JavaScript, React
- Proven experience designing and building software solutions that drive scale and automation
- Experience driving cross-functional standards and best practices and setting the bar when it comes to design and build quality
- Experience driving initiatives that elevate organization's people, technology and processes
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in software development
- Experience working with operational teams to build custom solutions
- Experience using data analysis to troubleshoot production systems and diagnose problems
- Experience multitasking and working in an unstructured environment of fast growth and ambiguity

$151,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
