Security Engineering Manager, Access Management

Meta's security team is the central engine driving data and systems security at the company, supporting Meta and all of its family of apps. The organization is responsible for inhibiting malicious actors from compromising our environment as well as preventing, detecting, and responding to them before they do damage. We ensure that we are maintaining the protections we say we will, and engaging with the community to help those outside the company learn from the work we do. We work across all parts of the company, from the corporate infrastructure to production to external services, interfacing with nearly every team in the company.We are looking for a Security Engineering Manager to join our Identity, Authentication & Access Management (IAM) leadership team to drive cross-company initiatives to evolve the way we grant our workforce and services access to Meta's assets and data. This is a heavily cross-functional and collaborative role, with significant company-wide impact and executive level visibility. The role will support a combined Security Engineering and Software Engineering team.

Security Engineering Manager, Access Management Responsibilities:
  • Lead a combined Security Engineering and Software Engineering organization to implement tailored access control solutions for Meta's assets and data across the company.
  • Determine what the highest-risk areas of access are across the company.
  • Engage directly with the highest risk areas to deploy tailored fine-grained access controls.
  • Ensure implementation of right-sized access control broadly across the whole company.
  • Navigate tradeoffs between security and friction/cost to ensure the company can continue to move fast in a secure manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in driving large cross-company engineering initiatives
  • Experience managing security risk and navigating the tradeoff between security and friction in a large organization
  • Experience communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions
  • Experience operating in high ambiguity environments and balance technical solution design with complex business processes & requirements
  • Hands-on engineering experience and experience leading Security Engineering and Software Engineering teams
  • Demonstrated experience scaling 0->1 teams by hiring significant net new staffing
  • Experience managing managers
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Practical experience with authorization or access management solutions, or other areas of security

$213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
