This is an opportunity to join Meta's UK public policy team. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our UK public policy strategy on high priority areas including competition and national security issues. You will join the UK Public Policy team, this team lead all aspects of Meta's public policy work in this priority market for the business. You will help shape product and policy conversations with policymakers in Parliament, in Government, and in the broader business sector/civil society. You will also advise our internal teams and leadership on the public policy implications of our products and wider positions as a company.The role requires significant experience either working with or in Government, politics, regulatory agencies or think tanks in the UK, as well as grasping complex technical and policy issues. You will need knowledge of existing tech policy debates in the UK, ideally including solid knowledge of the issues around competition, national security and lastly the potential of AI models and products. You'll work with the UK and wider Europe policy teams to shape and deliver the company's product and policy vision in the region. You will work with the broader UK Public Policy Team to devise and execute public policy campaigns with UK stakeholders, and to advance Meta's mission to create a more open and connected world.Successful candidates will enjoy public speaking and be excited about the possibility of representing Meta externally, including in difficult, high-stakes conversations with external stakeholders.

Public Policy Manager Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director of UK Public Policy to shape and ensure delivery of national strategies in support of Meta's policy and product agendas.
- Through close collaboration with internal policy and product teams, ensure consistency of Meta's UK policy engagement strategies with our global policy agenda
- Represent Meta to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, technical meetings with regulators, and other public fora including in the UK Parliament
- Brief executives across Meta on the risks and opportunities emerging from the policy and political landscape in the UK
- Advise Meta's internal teams on UK policy matters to guide development of products and policies
- Build compelling campaign narratives and third party mobilisation strategies in collaboration with Meta's Europe Campaigns team and other cross-functional teams
- 8+ years of government and/or public policy experience
- Experience working on the policy issues relating to online safety, technology and AI
- English fluent
- First hand experience with the UK legislative process will be an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of the UK's technology, online platform and AI landscape, particularly major academic centers, start-ups, trade bodies, government institutions and public commentators.
- Understanding of how to translate technical issues into persuasive public policy advocacy.
