Meta is looking to hire an individual to help lead our outreach on certain critical issues with the Domestic Policy Council as well as other key domestic policy agencies within the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. This will include law enforcement, homeland security (e.g., fraud & scams, high-risk drugs, youth, human trafficking, and dangerous organizations and individuals). The individual will also focus on other high-priority national issues, such as encryption, energy and infrastructure for data centers, cybersecurity, as well as certain AI issues with a Department of Justice/legal nexus. The ideal candidate will have established relationships and experience working at the federal level on domestic policy issues, strong knowledge of the digital economy and internet policy issues, and expertise in policy debates that impact the technology sector. The ideal candidate will help the policy team liaise with Meta's legal department, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Domestic Policy Council. In this role, you will help the U.S. policy team develop thinking on key public policy issues that impact the future of the internet at one of the world's leading internet companies. Public Policy Director, Executive Branch Responsibilities:
- Develop policy positions on national domestic policy issues affecting the Internet
- Identify, monitor, and analyze U.S. domestic policy issues affecting Meta at the Federal level
- Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings
- Advise Facebook teams on domestic public policy matters to guide development of products, services and policies
- Represent Facebook in meetings with key Federal stakeholders
- Communicate Facebook's positions in public presentations
- 14+ years of legal/public policy experience (5+ years of experience working in Federal Legislative or Executive branches)
- Experience in U.S. domestic policy development/advocacy
- Experience in technology and internet related policy issues
- Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Business or related field
- JD, MBA or MPP
- Experience working on domestic legal/policy issues in the U.S. government
- Experience working in the tech industry
- Experience working with policy makers
