We're seeking an experienced Product Design Manager to lead a team of designers in shaping the future of Instagram's design systems. You'll be instrumental in driving the development of scalable, consistent, and accessible design solutions while upholding the highest standards of craft and quality. Your expertise will help evolve Instagram's visual identity, ensuring our platform remains the home for creativity and connection.
Product Design Manager, Instagram - Design Systems Responsibilities:
- Leading the development and evolution of Instagram's internal design system
- Build and manage a growing team of design systems designers
- Promote our design efforts to commit to an environment of craft and quality across the organization
- Develop and implement strategies to continuously improve our visual/UI design, usability and product consistency
- Work with the brand design team to bring the Instagram and Meta brands to life throughout the product
- Collaborate successfully with a large number of teams and cross-functional partners
- Lead efforts to incorporate accessibility best practices into the design system, ensuring all components are usable by a diverse set of users

- 8+ years of experience in Product Design
- Demonstrated experience in design principles, visual design and user-centered design methodologies
- 5+ years of management experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
- People management, team development, and recruiting experience
- Demonstrated understanding of Figma features and skills, including component libraries, variants, and design system management tools
- Experience leading and evolving design systems in medium/large-sized organizations and operationalizing them across teams
- Experience knowledge of iOS/Material/Desktop standards

$196,000/year to $272,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
