Network Deployment Engineer, Deployment & Support (University Grad) Responsibilities:
- Deploy and support our global production network including edge, backbone, data center, and Compute and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure.
- Lead and manage deployment activities in our Points of Presence(POPs) deploying critical capacity requirements for the business.
- Work cross-functionally with project management, network engineering to generate implementation plans including Method of Procedure (MOP) and Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Design Packages (EDP), Scope of Works (SOW), Network equipment and server Rack Face Elevations (RFE).
- Work with other teams, internal and cross-functional teams in order to perform escalations and work with system & tooling owners towards a resolution and identify and establish roadmap projects around process, workflow & tooling improvement opportunities.
- Identify and improve processes, workflows and tools that are manual, slow or suboptimal.
- Conceptualize, build, and maintain automated workflows and tools to support network deployment.
- Drive scaling efforts across the global network.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's or Masters degree in Telecommunications, Networking, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing complex situations and use troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, and problem solving skill under pressure
- Attention to detail with time management and organization skills
- Knowledge of IPv6 and BGP, CCIE, CCNA or other vendor equivalent
- General knowledge of Content Delivery Networks and/or Internet Peering strategies
- Proficient working with Linux shell, its main commands and tools.
- Knowledge of container technologies such as LXC and Docker
- Knowledge of Databases (e.g. MySQL) and a general knowledge of SQL
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages (Java, C#, Python, PHP, GO or similar)
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash/Sh/Perl/PowerShell or similar)
- Knowledge of JavaScript/React
- Experience working within a global team in an environment with limited supervision
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as a code solutions such as Ansible, Chef and Puppet
- Knowledge of CI/CD process and systems like Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo

$43.75/hour to $59.62/hour + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
