At Meta, Mission Control is the organization responsible for end-to-end workforce planning for all departments. In this role, our planners help the business proactively drive their workforce strategies and anticipate and solve talent supply and demand challenges. Further, they manage the day-to-day operations of headcount management.This role will serve as the Planner for executing headcount planning for areas across Meta. The Planners are responsible for delivering workforce insights, facilitating headcount processes such as annual, and in-year headcount allocation exercises, driving reorganization efforts, and handling workforce management escalations. This role is highly operational workforce planning mixed with strategic workforce planning. The role could be working on strategic plans for implementing a process to rolling up your sleeves and getting into discrete position management activities. Demand accuracy is imperative, and this role will need to dig in with business leaders, finance partners, and human resource partners to ensure that our demand-supply processes are set up for success.

Mission Control Workforce Planner Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and manage yearly headcount planning cycle as well as end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
- Execute and own the position management for headcount at very granular levels.
- Consult on best practices for workforce planning (location strategy, experience & talent mix of organization).
- Facilitate change management and escalation process with Finance counterparts for requested changes to headcount targets. Work to minimize downstream impact and communicate appropriately. Partner with the recruiting team on shifting priorities for hiring.
- Use data to collaborate with Human Resources Business Partners and business leaders to drive organizational design (organization mix, location strategy).
- Partner with Mission Control and our analysts to develop in depth reporting, which is leveraged by all cross-functional partners.
- Leverage analytics to ensure data-driven decisions are being made based on the insights and recommendations provided by the Planner.
- Manage headcount allocations to accelerate business growth. Primary focus is on balancing the supply & demand of headcount. This requires cross-functional collaboration with partners across Finance, Recruiting, HR and the business teams.
- Regularly meet with business leaders, managers, Finance, HR and Recruiting partners to present headcount updates. Pointing out changes and explaining "why" the changes occurred, how they affect the big picture, and provide recommendations / insights.
- 5+ years of workforce planning / management, or equivalent experience
- BA/BS degree in Finance, HR or related field.
- Experience being a thought leader within the organization and someone who can help internal solution strategy globally and influence others in the organization to change
- Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational experience
- Experience in development of a team, and in personnel management and staffing
- Experience in working with, influencing, and presenting to executive leadership including C-suite level leaders.
- Demonstrated experience diving into analytics and telling a data driven story is key.
- Experience with finance and recruiting processes
- Experience with complex data/analytics models and tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Advanced spreadsheet skills
- Experience with workforce planning and/or management including headcount planning and allocation management
