Mechanical Engineer - Research

Redmond, WA

At Meta's Reality Labs Research, our goal is to make world-class consumer virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. Come work alongside industry-leading scientists and engineers to create the technology that makes MR, VR, and AR pervasive and universal. Join the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world. On the Opto-Mechanical team, our goal is to explore, innovate, and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for state-of-the-art virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team, whose mission will be to design, build, and test future consumer VR and AR experiences. You will develop brand new mechanical structures, mechanisms, and solutions for new hardware. You will become part of a team chartered with the exploration of new concepts through analytical modeling and fast iterative prototyping. A wide range of approaches will be explored combining electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software techniques. We want people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, work in new technology areas, are able to drive a concept into a prototype, and can envision how a prototype could transition into a high-volume consumer product. You'll work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
