Marketing Technology & Data Strategy Lead

We are seeking an experienced lead with proven experience to drive the integration of marketing, technology, and data at scale. This role will serve as a connective tissue between Marketing, Engineering, Legal, and Privacy teams - turning complex business needs into scalable and privacy-compliant solutions that unlock impact across our marketing systems, especially within the WhatsApp product ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the roadmap, aligning business strategy with technical execution, and championing the adoption and evolution of our Marketing Technology stack and data platforms.

Marketing Technology & Data Strategy Lead Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of MarTech and data-related initiatives across business messaging marketing initiatives (including WhatsApp business platform, and our other messaging platforms)
  • Drive discovery and requirements gathering, partnering closely with marketing and business leads to translate goals into technical plans & roadmaps. Work with tech teams and lead full life cycle data infrastructure delivery of large cross functional projects
  • Technical Project Management: Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of marketing technology & data projects. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, develop project timelines and resource allocation plans, and track project progress to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Serve as a STO to business / marketing to engineering and privacy teams - clearly mapping out data flows, user signals, and platform interactions.
  • Data Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement data strategies, including lean data principles, data acquisition, cleansing, segmentation, and analysis.
  • Develop data modeling, architecture, while working with large Hive data infrastructure, and how platforms connect and communicate.
  • Lead privacy reviews, ensuring data practices are compliant while effectively representing business context and needs.
  • Build cross-functional relationships across Marketing, Enterprise Engineering, Data Engineering, Privacy, Legal, and Sales.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, and their role in campaign data infrastructure.
  • Champion roadmap development, marketing platform strategy, and internal enablement efforts.
  • Deliver clear, pithy, and regular communications - to stakeholders at all levels, including leadership.
  • Be a thought partner to marketing: Help connect data and tech strategy to campaign performance, personalization, and measurement.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing technology, data strategy, or technical program management roles.
  • Proven experience in tech or highly regulated industries, with proven understanding of privacy, compliance, and data governance.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with engineering, privacy, and legal teams on data-heavy or MarTech initiatives.
  • Previous experience in technical project and program management skills, with a track record of owning complex, multi-stakeholder projects end-to-end.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven understanding of data architecture, data modeling, user flows, and data signal activation.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Data Cloud.
  • Experience defining and driving Marketing & Sales Technology roadmaps.
  • Hands-on experience to query and validate data using SQL and Hive.
  • Proven experience to turn large, abstract business problems into structured workstreams and scalable solutions.
  • Experience building dashboards, documenting systems, and driving adoption of MarTech tools across marketing teams.

$122,000/year to $176,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
