Meta is looking for a manager to lead PSAT(Production Services Automation Team) team facing NetZero, Facilities, Security, and Design, Engineering & Construction. The team acts as an automation muscle for Infra Data Centers (IDC) enabling IDC teams to realize high priority goals to meet business requirements. The team partners with other idc leaders to deliver AI and non-AI capacity faster and more efficiently to allow us to achieve our 10x goal. They directly work with other teams to drive efficiency across IDC and Infra. The team provides ownership and coverage for critical tools and services which allows IDC to support different data center design and operation. The team is responsible for developing and proactively owning software solutions to support business organization like Edge & Network Services, Infrastructure Business Ops Support, Infrastructure Enablement, Facility Operations, Sustainability, Design, Engineering & Construction (DEC). PSAT Engineers work with other IDC (Infra Data Centers) teams, sometimes embedded in those teams, collaborating in building and scaling technology solutions. Managing an PSAT(NetZero, Facilities, Security, DEC) team requires a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of technologies, a focus on growing and developing the skills and talents of your team, and demonstrated experience of driving high roi projects & prioritizing effectively.

Manager, Infrastructure Automation And Tooling Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead a productive and impact-oriented technical team of 7+ engineers responsible for building software solutions for Meta's physical infrastructure
  • Support and lead engineers working on Meta Infrastructure's tools and services, at different layers of the stack, on challenges related to scalability, reliability, performance and efficiency of infrastructure operations
  • Understand and contribute to technical architectures, tooling needs, automation plans, product launch plans and create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges
  • Drive technical architecture discussions, even on subjects you haven't had direct experience working with
  • Develop lasting partnerships with customer teams, product management, program management, network engineering, software engineering and other related groups to build and improve our ever-growing large-scale distributed infrastructure and product environment
  • Empower engineers to develop their careers, matching their strengths with projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
  • Help build and enrich an inclusive work environment comprised of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Assess employee performance on an ongoing basis, address under-performance, and recognize and promote performance
  • Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team including interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and on-boarding new employees
  • Balance the need to "keep things running" with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects
  • Partner with and build high quality relationships with other Meta teams
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of direct management experience in a technology role
  • 10+ years of experience solving complex infrastructure problems at scale
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with infrastructure products, tools, services, networking, and troubleshooting
  • Experience drafting and reviewing code
  • Experience with building teams and/or organizations, including hiring and managing performance
  • Experience with developing managers and organizational strategy
  • Communication and cross-collaboration experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience supporting software teams in ambiguous environments
  • Linux OS, networking

$161,000/year to $225,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
