Meta is looking for a Lead Counsel, Labor & Employment, EMEA, on the Employment Law & Investigations team. This position will be based in Dublin or London but will be responsible for EMEA-wide employment law support.
Lead Counsel, Labor & Employment, EMEA Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic advice and counsel to our ER and HR teams across the region on a broad range of employee related issues including performance and disciplinary matters, reorganisations, internal investigations, future of work programs, compensation and benefits, corporate transactions, and employment policies and procedures
- Drafting and revising employment related agreements and policies including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, employee handbooks, and other employment related documents
- Partnering with internal teams to build processes and playbooks for recurring employee-related matters. Working on other region wide projects and initiatives
- Support employment litigation as necessary
- Candidate must partner effectively with cross-functional teams to provide practical advice and bring strategic and scalable solutions
- Candidate must be willing to work extended hours when necessary to connect with colleagues from other regions

- 3+ years of post-qualification experience in labor and employment
- Qualified lawyer in at least one EMEA jurisdiction with demonstrated academic credentials (Bachelor of Law or equivalent degree)
- Experience with labor and employment law in EMEA including performance management, compliance and disciplinary procedures. Willingness to learn employment laws in new jurisdictions
- Experience with coordinating and driving to completion large-scale projects
- Collaborative and solution oriented work experience
- Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable.
- In-house experience preferred but not necessarily required
