Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as Lead Counsel in our Cybersecurity Legal team. The position will be responsible for protecting our users and their data by counseling our information security teams, and by building and maintaining relationships with private and public sector entities focusing on Internet safety and security. The position will provide counsel to Meta's security teams during investigations, incident response, and threat mitigation, and work directly with business and engineering teams to design and implement innovative cybersecurity solutions. - Review and provide guidance on security practices, including applicable controls and certification
- eProvide counsel, support and sign-off during investigations to ensure they are conducted and documented in an appropriate manner that minimizes risks and protects users
- Support and oversee information sharing efforts with cybersecurity agencies, industry partners and research institutions, including developing industry best-practice
- Provide counsel on the impact of the EU's cybersecurity strategy and applicable EU laws and regulations on Meta's cybersecurity practices
- Support our incident response processes - including and refining frameworks in response to specific regulatory requirements
- Counsel teams in developing products with security by design
- Qualified to practice law in Ireland
- 5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or prior in-house experience with internet or technology companies
- Extensive experience applying EU data protection / cybersecurity laws to investigations, knowledge sharing efforts and information security practices
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Demonstrated experience managing numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
- Certifications relevant to the cybersecurity field (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CIPP)
- Advisory experience in adjacent areas of law such as GDPR, ePD, DMA, DSA, OSA
- Experience working with data protection authorities, government cybersecurity, law enforcement or data protection agencies, or Internet industry associations
