Meta is seeking an experienced Information Governance Specialist to join the eDiscovery & Information Governance Team within Meta's Legal Department. As an Information Governance Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing cutting-edge, enterprise-wide approaches and solutions relating to the information lifecycle, including records retention and defensible disposition. The ideal candidate is an experienced communicator with great curiosity and a desire to learn and grow as a subject matter expert. The candidate will work proactively and collaborate with teams to build consensus across the organization, including legal, information technology, engineering, product, privacy, and security. In addition, proven experience and confidence operating independently in a fast-paced environment is required.

Information Governance Specialist Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective company-wide strategies related to information management and governance.
- Formulate and implement strategies and workflows for managing the information management lifecycle, including the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, preservation, retention, and disposition of records.
- Meaningfully contribute to the design, execution, and management of internal and third-party systems and tools.
- Assist with the management of information governance vendors and the operation of information governance tools.
- Maintain relevant subject matter expertise in U.S. and global legal and regulatory obligations as well as industry standards relating to information governance and records management.
- Apply information governance knowledge, principles, practices, and experience when working collaboratively with the eDiscovery & Information Governance team, as well as with Meta legal, business partners, and vendors.
- Rapidly identify, analyze, and address complex issues and distill that complexity into simple and concise communication in cross-functional settings.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years of experience in the large-scale handling, management, and/or governance of information
- Experience managing complex information-related projects involving structured and unstructured data
- Demonstrated technical skills and experience with information governance technology and tools
- Experiencing communicating with a variety of audiences, including legal, technical, and product teams, and working cross-functionally across an organization
- Proven experience in scoping, developing and implementing strategies and plans that increase impact
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience adapting quickly in diverse, evolving environments
- In-house technology company experience

$94,000/year to $136,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
