Meta is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager to join our Europe, Middle East, and Africa indirect tax team. This is an individual contributor role. The Indirect Tax Manager role is critical to the success of the Tax Department and will support the rapid growth of our business in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa ("EMEA") region.The successful candidate will support all areas of EMEA indirect tax compliance; planning, audit defense, and tax governance for the entities under management. In addition, you will also assist our team with operationalisation for new B2C (i.e. supply of electronic services to consumers) and AP WHT regimes which are implemented in the region; working directly with our New Product Initiatives team in the US. There will also be an opportunity to support the EMEA Indirect Director and US/Local Policy with respect to B2C and WHT policy matters.This is a full-time, on-site position located at our Dublin office.

Indirect Tax Manager Responsibilities:
  • Supporting indirect tax compliance and supporting our EMEA Indirect Tax governance and control team
  • Monitor and manage indirect tax compliance to ensure Meta is compliant with local laws and policies to prevent potential issues with tax audits and regulatory bodies
  • Review key performance indicators. Present at monthly update meetings with ITX compliance team and outsource partners
  • Proactively identify weaknesses in current processes and procedures relating to indirect tax matters and identify solutions including automation so that issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Complete the operationalisation for new B2C regimes (i.e. supply of electronic services to consumers) and WHT/DST which are implemented in the region working directly with our New Product Initiatives team in the US.
  • Supporting the EMEA VAT audit manager. This includes engaging with advisors and co-ordinate calls, information sharing etc for VAT audits
  • Reviewing and responding to VAT information requests from for example tax authorities
  • Assist in the monthly and year-end tax provision process
  • Work closely with the other cross functional partners providing all required tax support, including coordinating and working with external advisors and financial auditors as needed
  • Support the EMEA Indirect Director with B2C policy related matters
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8+ experience in indirect tax compliance & governance and audit management
  • Experience with communicating and presenting indirect tax matters succinctly to management and other cross functional partners.
  • Experience managing regional indirect tax for a large multinational company
  • Analytical and strategic planning background
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A professional tax qualification.
  • Experience of working in a VAT Compliance role or professional practice
  • Understanding of accounting systems Oracle
