At Reality Labs, we are focused on defining experiences in Augmented and Virtual Reality utilizing AI, finding new ways for people to connect and build communities and help people feel more present with each other even when we're apart. The Wearables team is building new devices and software platforms with work spanning a number of breakthrough technologies, ranging from entertainment and gaming to education and beyond.

Illustrator, Wearables Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement an illustration system logic, creating both still and animated assets that are delightful, beautiful, and clear, supporting the global wearables program strategy.
  • Generate new concepts quickly based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research.
  • Manage individual projects in an organized manner, ensuring on-time delivery and a clear workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Designers, Art Directors/Creative Directors and Product Managers to align product needs within an illustration/animation system.
  • Ensure all illustration assets align with brand guidelines, maintaining visual consistency across all platforms and materials.
  • Adapt and customize illustration styles to suit various communication channels, ensuring relevance and effectiveness in different contexts.
  • Actively seek and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve illustration work, ensuring it meets both creative and strategic goals.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in illustration and animation, applying innovative techniques to keep visual content fresh and engaging.
  • Utilize advanced tools and software for illustration and animation, ensuring high-quality output and efficient workflows.
  • Share learnings across the organization to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of our work.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, UX/UI, and engineering, to ensure that illustrations effectively support overall communication and product design strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven background in illustration, with a portfolio showcasing high-quality work and a keen eye for detail
  • 5+ years experience in illustration at a creative agency or an in-house design team
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • An effective strategic acumen for building cohesive components and developingsystem guidelines for illustrated components
  • Illustration experience in a varied set of styles, with knowledge of color, composition and digital production
  • Experience building across product experiences
  • Experience developing illustration concepts for motion
  • Experience incorporating research insights into the work
  • Organizational and project management skills, with the experience to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working within constraints and driving successful visual compromises
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in generative AI, including prompt writing and an understanding of AI creation tools and how to leverage them in pipelines.

$126,000/year to $175,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
