ESG Project Manager

Meta's Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) team oversees responsible business strategy, governance, cross-functional engagement and reporting at Meta. The ESG Project Manager will be responsible for project management and cross-functional coordination across the global ESG program. This is a strategic role supporting program leadership and guiding project teams and internal SMEs to meet the objectives of projects that are complex in scope. Responsibilities will include a mix of: strategic advice and coordination, record keeping and reporting, communication and alignment, and administrative support. This role reports to the Head of ESG.

ESG Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor execution of ESG project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to enable and track organizational alignment with ESG objectives, and drive continuous progress toward meeting ESG milestones and goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements, build tools, and facilitate activities that support delivery of ESG program objectives.
  • Create dashboards, reports and presentations to communicate project progress and recommendations to various stakeholders and leadership.
  • Proactively identify potential project risks and roadblocks, deploy mitigation strategies, and work with ESG leadership to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support team with sourcing needs, including preparation of RFPs, contracts and change orders.

  • 8+ years of relevant project management experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of trends and best practices in ESG, sustainability and responsible business practices, including reporting landscape.
  • Experience in multitasking and prioritizing tasks based on capacity, due dates and critical paths.
  • Experience in organizing, directing and problem-solving with multiple, cross functional teams.
  • Project reporting skills with focus on interdepartmental communications.
  • Proven interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in embracing ambiguity and being nimble given shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in related discipline.
  • 3+ years of direct project management experience in ESG, sustainability and/or responsible business.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.

$116,000/year to $166,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
