The Director of Global Storage and Distribution will be responsible for developing the strategy for and executing operations that allow Meta to move assets and material to and from any node in Meta's infrastructure system. Span of control for this leadership role would include coordinating 3PL vendors providing storage and transportation services, leading a team of storage and transportation planners and analysts, and managing and improving the tooling required to execute these responsibilities at scale. Assets and material includes, but are not limited to server racks, fiber, network switches, spare components, bulk material. Storage and destination nodes include locations across the globe, including North, South, and Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia.

Director, Global Storage and Distribution Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop, and grow global storage and distribution teams.
  • Develop an organizational vision for the future of storage and distribution operations at Meta. Design, develop, and implement a strategic roadmap for the team that delivers services required for rapid and often unexpected growth of requirements.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of assets and material to our worldwide network of data centers, network caching sites, warehouses, and forward support locations.
  • Develop OEM, ODM, JDM, and CM manufacturing strategies that address the unique needs of supply chain and manufacturing at hyperscale.
  • Lead the pilot and mass production launch of custom new hardware SKU's.
  • Partner with tooling development teams to conceive, develop, implement and continuously improve sophisticated, integrated warehouse and transportation management systems that deliver on-time, error-free services and that improve team member productivity.
  • Partner with sourcing, accounting, operations, and data science teams to develop, reach and maintain appropriate aged inventory health targets.
  • Partner with sourcing, legal, trade compliance and tax compliance teams to anticipate, plan for, and support Meta across all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Understand and introduce industry best practices and trends, as well as strategic direction of the business and technology platforms. Understand and articulate how to leverage these into our internal business strategies to create sustainable and scalable operations models.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree in Business, Engineering, or Science or commensurate experience.
  • 15+ years of combined logistics experience.
  • Proven experience to deliver storage and distribution operations in demanding environments. Must have experience in developing contracts and statements of work that govern the services provided by third party logistics organizations, especially in the areas of warehousing, transportation and value-added services.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of sophisticated, integrated, industry-leading warehouse and transportation systems.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and launching warehouse facilities, including consideration of all relevant building, racking, environmental, ground handling equipment, and dock facilities
  • Operate in a rapidly evolving, often ambiguous environment and demonstrate the experience to detect, collect and process new information and re-prioritize desired outcomes as needed in our rapidly changing and growing Meta infrastructure environment.
  • Proven leader that can set vision and execute reliably.
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring, training, and developing logistics operations teams. Track record of identifying, developing and promoting great talent.
  • Experience in cross functional partnering skills and enabling the success of others.
  • Experience to transform business systems and models with proven results relative to goals. Demonstrated skills questioning the norm, experience to think out-of-bounds, and deliver.

$207,000/year to $262,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
