We are looking for a Data Science Director to drive work that will define the strategy of Meta's Advertising AI infrastructure. This infrastructure system generates billions in incremental revenue each year.Meta's advertising AI has matured to the point where only significant infrastructure advances can power meaningful improvements to the system. This work to optimize our AI infrastructure is critical to Meta's ability to realize its high-level strategic priorities. In this role you will have the opportunity to have a large impact on Meta's business and on the future of advertising infrastructure.About the role:People leadership: You will inspire, lead and grow a world-class team.Product leadership: You will use data to shape development, quantify new opportunities, identify upcoming challenges, and ensure the products we build bring value to people, businesses, and Meta. You will help your partner teams prioritize what to build, set goals, and understand their product's ecosystem.Analytics: You will guide teams using data and insights. You will focus on developing hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them.Communication and influence: You won't simply present data, but tell data-driven stories. You will convince and influence your partners using clear insights and recommendations. You will build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partner.

Director, Data Science - Monetization AI Infrastructure Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute strategy and investment decisions for the Monetization AI Infrastructure.
  • Contribute to long-term technical vision, strategy, methods and metrics that will improve the quality and efficiency of the Monetization AI Infrastructure and how it is used.
  • Develop understanding of complex and large scale AI development, experimentation and measurement system, as well as broader industry challenges, to identify present and future risks and opportunities.
  • Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists and managers across multiple teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors/Masters in a quantitative discipline (e.g., AI, statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering) with 10+ years (or PhD with 8+ years).
  • 10+ years of work experience managing analytics teams, working collaboratively with Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development.
  • 5+ years of experience managing through layers.
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring, retaining and scaling diverse, geographically dispersed, high-performing teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive, decisiveness, experience with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders and cross-functionally.
  • Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on large scale AI infrastructure and operationalization.

$253,000/year to $314,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
