Meta is seeking a Data Center Site Manager to provide exceptional engineering, operations, and people leadership at our data center. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly-growing, mission-critical infrastructure operates and our innovative services are delivered. As Site Manager, you will be a key leader in the global Data Center Site Operations team, accountable for ensuring the infrastructure at our data center meets the current and future needs of Meta and our global community.You will drive success in engineering, analytics, and operations to ensure successful delivery and performance of our data center production infrastructure. You will adopt and contribute to global best practices, champion innovation that yields meaningful improvements to our operations, platforms, and tools, and deliver quantifiable improvements in performance, efficiency, quality, scalability, and/or resiliency. Technical depth, strategic thinking, and proven business acumen are essential in this role. You are well-versed in current data center infrastructure technology trends, lean, analytics-driven operations and business leadership concepts. You will build and support a high-performing team, developing technologists and people leaders.

Data Center Site Manager Responsibilities:
  • Deliver world-class data center infrastructure to Meta and our global community, working with teams at your data center site and across the globe
  • Become a technical expert in Meta's infrastructure, including platforms, tools, systems, architecture, workflows, and performance
  • Build and lead a world-class engineering operations team, delivering insights, solutions, practices, and tools to efficiently and proactively manage a hyperscale server footprint
  • Analyze and drive continuous improvement in the engineering and operational performance of our data centers
  • Employ data analytics to identify inefficiencies, opportunities, exceptions, and correlations in a complex, highly-interconnected, technical environment. Enable rapid and effective problem solving along with proactive identification and mitigation of risks and issues.
  • Build quality assurance, continuous improvement, safety, security, and data protection processes into standard practices
  • Lead the adoption of new technologies at scale and drive innovation that meaningfully improves tooling, workflows, and technologies
  • Build cross functional relationships to influence engineering and operations across Meta, to improve performance of our global data center fleet
  • Assume the role of crisis manager during large-scale, site-wide, and region-wide production impacting events, serving as the primary point of contact. This requires working cross-functionally to scope problems, mitigate risks, effect fixes, and communicate the nature, status, and resolution plan for incidents.
  • Build a high-performing team with bench strength to ensure business and operational continuity
  • Represent Meta in community and public forums, coordinating with the Community Development Team
  • Travel up to 30% required
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering or related Computer Science/IT Management
  • 15+ years of engineering or operations experience
  • Aptitude for problem-solving with advanced knowledge of analytics and lean methodologies to assess opportunities and challenges, develop data-driven strategies, and drive meaningful global impact
  • Capacity to influence effectively, working on cross functional teams to advance the needs of the company and adapting teams to meet these needs
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, organization and business-planning experience
  • Technologist, leveraging technical, operations and engineering expertise to build strategy
  • Capacity and desire to work in a fast paced, hands-on environment
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure and/or operations, including power, cooling, and/or network systems, structured cabling, and management of projects, incidents, and vendors
  • Communication skills using English as the primary business language, with experience communicating internally across disciplines and organizations at all levels, and externally at public events, to public representatives and the media

$131,000/year to $186,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
