At Reality Labs, we are focused on defining experiences in Augmented and Virtual Reality utilizing AI, finding new ways for people to connect and build communities and help people feel more present with each other even when we're apart. The Wearables team is building new devices and software platforms with work spanning a number of breakthrough technologies, ranging from entertainment and gaming to education and beyond.

Creative Lead Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of 2D/3D interfaces, enhancing the overall user experience.
  • Oversee the creation of platform-level visual systems, ensuring cohesive, high quality and innovative outcomes.
  • Develop and drive the vision for motion design systems, integrating animation and motion seamlessly into the user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Research, and Engineering.
  • Lead and inspire a team of designers, illustrators, and motion designers, fostering team creativity and innovation.
  • Work closely with Program Managers, Design Program Managers and Art Producers to establish efficient design processes, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design deliverables.
  • Present design concepts, progress, and final deliverables to executive leadership and stakeholders, effectively communicating the vision and direction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including design studios, agencies, and content creators, to leverage additional resources.
  • Provide feedback and direction to the team to continually raise the innovation and quality bar.
  • Contribute to high-level decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
  • Clearly articulate decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders
  • Lead and oversee projects and teams working from conception to launch

  • An effective acumen for building timeless components through a cohesive brand architecture
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • 8+ years of experience in brand design (agency and/or in-house)
  • Proven experience as a Creative Director or in a similar leadership role with a focus on emerging technologies
  • Background in developing platform-level UI components, illustrations, and design systems
  • Proficiency in 3D design tools and techniques, with experience in spatial interface design
  • Experience in motion design systems, including animation and motion graphics
  • Communication with the experience in articulating concepts and providing constructive feedback
  • Organizational and project management skills, with the experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and oversee a small team of diverse creatives.
  • A solid understanding and experience in maintaining cohesiveness across all visual elements
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software
  • Experience with emerging technologies and a desire to stay at the forefront of innovation in the design space
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in brand design (agency and/or in-house)
  • Experience in generative AI, including prompt authoring and AI creation tools

$196,000/year to $272,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
