At Reality Labs, we are focused on defining experiences in Augmented and Virtual Reality utilizing AI, finding new ways for people to connect and build communities and help people feel more present with each other even when we're apart. The Wearables team is building new devices and software platforms with work spanning a number of breakthrough technologies, ranging from entertainment and gaming to education and beyond.
Creative Director, Wearables Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the creation of platform-level visual and motion systems, ensuring cohesive and innovative outcomes.
- Lead the execution of 2D/3D interfaces, enhancing the overall user experience.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive visual systems to ensure the craft, cohesiveness and quality of visual elements.
- Develop and drive the vision for motion design systems, integrating animation and motion seamlessly into the user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Design, Product Management, Research, and Engineering.
- Mentor and inspire a team of designers, illustrators, and motion designers, fostering a team of creativity and innovation.
- Work closely with Program Managers, Design Program Managers and Art Producers to establish efficient design processes, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design deliverables.
- Present design concepts, progress, and final deliverables to executive leadership and stakeholders, effectively communicating the vision and strategic direction.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including design studios, agencies, and content creators, to leverage additional expertise and resources.
- Provide feedback and direction to the team to continually raise the innovation and quality bar.

- An effective strategic acumen for building timeless components through a cohesive brand architecture
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- 10+ years of experience in brand design (agency and/or in-house)
- Proven experience as a Creative Director or in a similar leadership role with a focus on emerging technologies.
- Proven background in developing platform-level UI components, illustrations, and design systems.
- Proficiency in 3D design tools and techniques, with experience in spatial interface design.
- Expertise in motion design systems, including animation and motion graphics.
- Demonstrated communication experience, with the experience to articulate creative concepts and provide constructive feedback.
- Effective organizational and project management skills, with the experience to manage multiple projects simultaneously and oversee a small team of diverse creatives.
- Proven understanding and experience to maintain cohesiveness across all visual elements.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software.
- Interest for emerging technologies and a desire to stay at the forefront of innovation in the design space.
- Expertise in generative AI, including prompt creation and AI creation tools.

$175,000/year to $236,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
