Meta Wearables is looking for a Creative Director to join the Product Creative team. Product Creative uses artistic and technical skills to create the vision and experiences that make Meta Wearables trend-setting, distinct, and loved by customers.The Creative Director will be responsible for driving high-level creative strategy, direction, and goals across several workstreams and methods, such as illustration, 3D graphics, motion graphics, interactive experiences, and more. The ideal candidate has a refined aesthetic taste, is detail-oriented, has a concept-driven approach, and has hands-on product experience. An ideal candidate is also a strategic partner, a collaborative peer, and can influence executives and other functional leaders.

Creative Director, Meta Wearables Product Creative Responsibilities:
  • Drive creative direction in collaboration with various design groups, from product designers, art directors, illustrators, and external partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Balance the needs of stakeholders, and break down complex requirements into simple, compelling solutions.
  • Synthesize feedback quickly incorporating it into the work strengthening outcomes.
  • Create compelling design proposals that demonstrate the impact of artistic and interactive solutions applied in product.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for product enhancements that would bring greater brand expression and elevate the quality of our work.
  • Create and uphold craft and quality standards for the work influencing the team and partners.
  • Alongside design operations, align on key priorities with cross-functional teams to build shared goals, milestones, and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years of experience as a Creative Director leading design direction across various multidisciplinary teams and identifying opportunities to enhance the overall product experience.
  • Experience building and shipping applications or software across a variety of platforms.
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the experience communicating complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively - Can explain the "whys" behind decisions and direction, is open to being wrong, and has a point of view and can represent it with conviction.
  • Experience working across various styles and mediums including illustration, iconography, animation, and 3D graphics, and weaving them together into holistic solutions.
  • Experience developing design principles related to branding, marketing, and creative directions for product work
  • Track record of being self-directed, demonstrating leadership, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner.
  • Experience in deadline driven environments that requires managing many dependencies including self directed time management, task prioritization, and flexibility.
  • Experience bringing clarity to complex, sometimes ambiguous projects and processes, proactively working towards solutions.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years of experience encompassing interaction design, UX, and visual design with proficiency designing across platforms
  • Experience coordinating, directing, providing direction to contractors, agencies, and in-house designers.
  • Experience clearly conveying concepts with cross-functional teams and vendors driving shared milestones.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • You are a detail-oriented hands on practitioner with an interest in creative direction and holistic thinking and is experienced collaborating with peers.

$174,000/year to $246,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
