The Creative Audio AI Program harnesses the transformative power of artificial intelligence to foster deeper personal connections and enhance expression for our users across all audio experiences. This innovative team, composed of highly skilled ICs and a dedicated People Manager, is at the forefront of driving change and advancing the boundaries of creative audio technology. We are seeking an experienced and talented Conversation Designer to join our team at Meta. As a Conversation Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of conversation design across our various product surfaces. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, illustrating, building, and delivering innovative conversational and natural language interaction paradigms to power AI Agents. You will drive conversational experiences from an audio-first creative perspective, collaborating closely with partners across multiple areas of focus and disciplines. Additionally, you will leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance the conversational experience and craft human-centric conversational experiences for chatbots, agents, voice assistants, and other use cases. To be successful in this role, you will need to utilize your full range of conversation design, product design, interaction design, and visual design skills. You should bring a passion for creative conversation and experience developing characters and backstories to help define the next generation of AI voice experiences. A positive and collaborative attitude is also essential, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams. You should be a self-motivated problem solver with impeccable communication skills. This role offers the opportunity to build upon your existing skill-set and drive the development of innovative conversational experiences across Meta's platforms. Conversation Designer Responsibilities:
  • Design conversational experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with business objectives and technical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of conversation design with technical capabilities.
  • Continuously experiment and gather insights to refine conversation design and improve user experience.
  • Work closely with language designers to ensure response design aligns with brand persona and target audience preferences.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in LLMs to inform conversation design decisions.
  • Develop high-quality scripts for audition and recording sessions that accurately capture characters' unique personalities, emotional range, and product/game understanding within their narrative/use case context.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in conversation design, UX design, or a related field.
  • Experience crafting engaging and natural language that aligns with brand, tone and voice.
  • Experience in designing conversational interfaces for chatbots, agents, copilots, voice assistants or related work.
  • Proven knowledge of conversation principles, psychology, and language.
  • Knowledge of character development and storytelling principles to create immersive conversational experiences.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and experience conveying empathy and understanding through conversational interfaces.
  • Experience creating personas and characters for conversational interfaces that resonate with target audiences.
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with LLMs and their applications in conversation design.
  • Portfolio featuring examples of conversational experiences and/or character/ persona development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience shipping conversational experiences or AI products.
  • Knowledge and experience with natural language and generation systems.
  • Previous experience designing for Assistant, AI, machine learning, or AR/VR products Created multiple demos or prototypes showcasing conversational design.
  • Experience driving and iterating at every phase of design, from paper to pixels.
  • Knowledge of NLU design and its evolution with LLMs.
  • Experience with continuous experimentation and gathering insights to inform design decisions.

$113,000/year to $162,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
