Meta is seeking a Controls Engineer experienced in the design and operations of critical facilities to become part of our Design Engineering and Construction team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The Meta Data Center Engineering team endeavors to be the benchmark of innovation for the data center industry and improve reliability, safety, and efficiency through innovative solutions, enabling Infrastructure teams to excel in achieving their goals. This position is full-time.The candidate we're looking for will have leadership skills, a proven track record in team management and background in all aspects of Controls Engineering, as well as a thorough understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems and IP networking.

Controls Engineer - DEC Engineering Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and implement Rockwell, Schneider and Siemens PLC code using programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, and Structured Text.
- Write high-quality, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
- Develop and configure SCADA systems using software such as System Platform and Ignition.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including P&IDs, programming, and testing procedures.
- Select and specify instrumentation and control devices, including sensors, transmitters, and actuators, to meet program requirements.
- Ensure instrumentation selection meets relevant standards and regulations, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and UL.
- Collaborate with multiple teams across different disciplines to achieve holistic new product designs optimized for cost, construction speed, operational efficiency, and long-term fungibility and flexibility.
- Contribute to the development of data center strategy and roadmap, aligning with business requirements and priorities.
- Stay current on industry trends through research collaborations with peers, vendors, academia, and government organizations.
- Travel to vendor/design partner locations and Meta's data center sites for verification and validation testing of cooling products/technologies.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience with control system design, development and management.
- Practical experience in software (PLC code and SCADA).
- Understanding Ethernet-IP, Modus, OPC-UA, MQTT protocols.
- Knowledge of Networking and Server/Client Workstations.
- Experience managing large complex projects and project teams.
- Certifications in various control systems.
- Experience to establish working relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
- Experience working simultaneously on multiple projects, in a team or independently.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics and psychometrics.
- Understanding of electrical systems and schematics, low voltage and high voltage.
- Datacenter/critical facilities experience.
- Experience developing SOO, process controls and commissioning plans.
- DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) understanding and working knowledge.
- IT and server hardware background.
- N+ certification.
- Knowledge of BAS DDC and PLC programming language.
- Schneider Electric PLC/Unity Pro experience.
- Citect/AVEVA SCADA understanding and working knowledge.
- OPC UA understanding and working knowledge.
- Central Chiller Plant commissioning experience.
- Experience with various coding languages such as C++.

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
