The XDO Camera and Depth Engineering team develops high-performance Camera and Depth solutions for Reality Lab's AR/MR products. This multidisciplinary group brings research to life by realizing state-of-the-art custom modules including mixed-signal ASICs, image sensors, lasers, optics, and firmware. The Camera and Depth: System Integration Engineer is responsible for end-to-end ownership of module firmware and system integration into complex end products and to help guide development from initial concept to delivery in high volume. This is a central role in realizing module maturity at respective product development milestones by consolidating work of many cross-functional partners, including architecture, module assembly, sensors, electrical, mechanical, test and calibration, firmware, components, laser safety, etc

Camera and Depth: System Integration Engineer Responsibilities:
- Own sensor and custom ASIC integration into the camera or depth modules and integration of modules in complex AR/MR/Smart Glasses devices
- Synthesize and define requirements for cross-functional (XFN) partners to guide development of hardware, firmware, and factory test strategy
- Drive vendor development for factory EE infrastructure for test/reliability assessment of the module
- Drive failure analysis during system integration in remote factory locations and during module development and integration into complex systems
- Manage 3rd party vendors to document requirements and ensure timely delivery of solutions
- Communicate concise/clear status summaries to XFN and executive teams
- Bachelor degree in physics, electrical engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years of system integration experience at least two of the following areas: camera or depth modules, sensors, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering
- Experience in firmware development and custom ASIC integration
- Experience in consumer electronics product development cycle
- Experience in managing complex projects working in a highly matrixed organization
- Masters/PhD degree in electrical engineering or related disciplines or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in system integration in complex, regulated products with many XFN stakeholders
- Experience in shipping a product or developing test and equipment in consumer electronics space for mass production
- Experience in module integration, electrical design, high speed signal integrity, semiconductor lasers and imaging optical systems for sensing applications
- Experience in design and characterization of time of flight laser transmitter modules
- Experience in lasers, sensors and/or optics design and development
- Experience in generating tests and analyzing data using Python, JMP, Matlab or other data analysis software

$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
