We are looking for a skilled Battery Research Engineer to join our team, to contribute to developing advanced lithium-ion batteries for next-generation XR devices.
Battery Research Engineer Responsibilities:
- Manage battery research lab, lead capital projects
- Develop materials (for example electrodes, electrolytes) for advanced Lithium-ion batteries
- Build prototype battery cells using a mix of off the shelf and custom materials
- Test batteries using standard testers such as Maccor and Arbin
- Analyze test data, perform battery tear downs and failure analysis, and prepare reports
- Prepare and maintain battery testing Standard Operating Procedures

- Bachelors or equivalent degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Material Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience working in a battery lab, including battery material synthesis, electrode fabrication and formulation, electrolyte formulation, cell design and construction, etc. in academic or industrial environment.
- 2+ years of experience working with battery testers such as Maccor and Arbin
- 2+ years of experience performing data analysis and preparing reports
- Experience with chemical and physical characterization techniques, e.g., SEM, EDS, Raman, XRD, and XPS, and particle size determination.

$111,000/year to $131,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
