We are a regional legal team with particular expertise in regulatory and enforcement counselling. The role will tackle cutting-edge issues pertaining to Meta's products and services. The ideal candidate will have experience handling regulatory and/or litigation matters and will be eager to roll up their sleeves and find novel solutions to help the company manage upcoming and imminent risks across two expansive and growth regions; Greater China and South and Central Asia. This role will work with other legal as well as policy teams in monitoring and assessing regulatory developments, providing legal counsel on regulatory issues, shaping and developing relevant compliance strategies and policies and engaging with regulators on emerging and ongoing regulatory developments. This is a unique opportunity for a lawyer with a keen interest in learning about new technologies and areas of law to help shape Meta's perspective on cutting edge issues in a fast and exciting environment. This is a full-time position based in Singapore.

Associate General Counsel, Greater China and South and Central Asia Responsibilities:
- Advise on the intersection of international developments with local laws, bringing regional nuances and relevant political considerations to a wide range of diverse legal systems across APAC
- Develop regulatory positions on emerging tech regulations across social media, privacy, AI, youth and safety, online scams
- Devise compliance and implementation strategies for regulatory developments
- Advisory and project management responsibility with respect to a broad range of legal subjects including regulatory and integrity matters
- Work closely with teams across departments and offices, including our Sales, Public Policy, Content Policy and Global Operations teams, based in offices regionally and globally.
- LLB, JD or equivalent degree with minimum 10 years PQE.
- Demonstrated experience handling complex legal issues, either in-house or at a law firm, across the Greater China and/or South and Central Asia regions.
- Familiarity with regulatory developments relating to online platforms
- Experience in advising on and representing companies in significant regulatory inquiries
- Experience with managing wide diverse panel of law firms across multiple jurisdictions
- Proven experience working independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risk
- Track record of problem solving and organizational skills and demonstrated experience of managing several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
- Proactive, with proven track record of exercising sound judgment and providing practical solutions
- Travel is required
- Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable.
- Language proficiency in Mandarin as the role will involve covering legal issues in GCR. Fluency in additional languages widely used in South Asia would be a bonus.
