Meta is seeking a highly specialized and experienced Latam AI Policy Manager to lead our AI-related public policy initiatives within the Latin America region. This role requires demonstrated technical knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and its intersection with public policy, with the capacity to coordinate with key stakeholders such as governments, industry peers, developers/technical community, international institutions and think tanks. The position will serve as the expert voice on AI within the Latam Public Policy team and externally, providing technical expertise for product counseling and regulatory matters.
AI Policy Manager, LATAM Responsibilities:
- Understand Meta's AI models and systems, open source architecture, frameworks, products and their underlying structure to become a subject matter expert.
- Engage with product teams, regarding feasibility of projects with a technical and policy focused perspective.
- Define and execute on a strategy to drive adoption of Llama and other Meta's AI platform offerings.
- Work with developer communities, industry sectors, governments and key partners to nourish an ecosystem of open source AI, that can build solutions with societal impact.
- Proactively communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders internally and externally and represent Meta in external forums and discussions on AI policy.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Public Policy, Political Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in public policy, government, or regulatory agencies, with a focus on AI.
- Understanding of Responsible AI development, risk and mitigations, best practices and regulatory discussions.
- Experience communicating and presenting to technical and business audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in understanding AI technologies and their implications for public policy.
- Proven track record of success in communication, with the capacity to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field.
- Experience working with international institutions and think tanks.
- Proven track record of managing complex policy issues and initiatives related to AI, and their relationship with technical matters.
- Experience managing time-sensitive projects through to completion while balancing evolving priorities and a diverse range of stakeholders
