In this role, you will advance Meta's view of open source among policy audiences and illustrate the transformative power of our AI-powered consumer products. This person will develop and implement effective communications strategies and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders in a broad range of subjects, including new technology developments, product launches, integrity issues, and regulatory discussions.Candidates must have a great understanding of AI technology and the social debate around digital platforms. Experience in media relations and the use of social channels, impeccable writing skills and a solid track-record of building successful communications campaigns are also required. This position, designed for a cutting-edge technology enthusiast, is full-time and located in Mexico City, Sao Paulo or Buenos Aires.

AI Communications Manager, Latam Responsibilities:
- Design and lead data-driven communications campaigns to introduce open source AI to policy audiences across Latin America, both via media relations and social channels.
- Illustrate Meta's leadership in generative AI through social communications and media relations.
- Work cross-functionally and be an influential voice with internal stakeholders across Public Policy, Legal and Business, as well as the global Communications team.
- Distill complex technology concepts into plain language for press, policymakers, and the general public through a wide range of channels and materials, including written, video and social posts.
- Counsel internal stakeholders on a broad set of communications matters ranging from media engagement strategy to crisis management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of professional experience, with a focus on working with press and social media on tech topics in Latin America.
- Proven communications skills in Spanish or Portuguese
- Proven story-telling skills in English, and Portuguese and/or Spanish
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with proven experience in judgment and negotiation skills
- Autonomy to work with different teams and drive complex conversations with company leaders
- Dynamic communications professional that feels at ease leading complex projects and excels at explaining state-of-the-art technologies in a clear, concise way
- Experience to balance multiple competing priorities, with flexibility to pivot and reprioritize quickly as needs arise
- Team player skills, a must. Leadership, project management, time management and collaboration skills
- A self-starter to proactively come up with new ideas, build plans and successfully execute them in partnership with other communications teams and partners
- Experience in media or marketing industry
