Bank of America's Global Commercial Bank ("GCB") is looking to add a Relationship Manager ("RM") in the Metro NY Market focused on a portfolio of Non-Bank Financial Institution ("NBFI") clients. The Global Commercial Bank serves public and private companies with annual revenues of $50 million to $2 billion. GCB provides a wide range of solutions to NBFI's globally including Global Treasury Services, Credit, Global Markets products, Capital Raising & Advisory Services, Wealth Management and Financial Life Benefits. The GCB NBFI portfolio consists primarily of alternative asset managers and market infrastructure firms that are clients of Bank of America's Equities & Fixed Income Currency & Commodities businesses in Global Markets. Others may be clients of the Global Corporate & Investment Bank and/or Merrill or the Private Bank. Strong sector knowledge and strong partnerships across Bank of America are crucial to succeeding in the role.

The RM coordinates holistic coverage across GCB core solutions including treasury services and credit origination while delivering the full breadth of Bank of America in concert with business partners in Global Markets, Investment Banking and Wealth Management. In addition to being the primary Bank advocate and key advisor to the client, the RM is accountable for deepening existing relationships at the CEO/CFO/Treasurer level. The RM will prepare for and conduct conversations regarding the client's distinct NBFI industry needs. The RM will assess risks and impacts from both the client's and the Bank's perspectives for development and implementation of an overall client strategy. The RM must be well versed in all Bank of America solutions and services for identification of cross-selling opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages an extensive portfolio of NFBI clients and prospects and delivers the full suite of BofA products and services.
  • Acquires, deepens, and maintains profitable client relationships through sales, prospecting, and enhancing existing relationships
  • Understands and interprets financial statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends
  • Collaborates with domestic and international teammates throughout the bank, including Investment Banking, Foreign Exchange, and Wealth Management and facilitates client relationships with Product Specialists in Credit, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services in order to design and deliver financial solutions to clients and prospects
  • Leads and facilitates dialogue with a variety of complex clients and prospects regarding topics such as the client and prospect industry, alternative capital structures, and general business issues
  • Coaches and mentors peers, while utilizing leadership skills
  • Adapts to changes in sales practices and broader market and industry conditions as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years' experience in Commercial or Transaction Banking
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully manage an extensive portfolio of NBFI clients
  • Proven track record of prospecting new business, enhancing existing relationships and closing profitable transactions.
  • Professional proven sales skills and experience, including planning, execution and follow up of client meetings.
  • Strong corporate finance, capital markets and accounting acumen.
  • Financial modeling experience and the completion of a formal credit training preferred.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Capable of organizing, facilitating, leading and negotiating with a team of bank associates to solve client problems.
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 & 63 (Must obtain SIE, series 7 & 63 license within 180 days of start date)

Desired Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent work experience. MBA desirable.
  • Existing knowledge of the market preferred.
  • Active member/participation in local community organizations.
  • Highly desirable to have active networking contacts and Centers of Influence established in market.

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$140,000.00 - $235,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
