Job Description
The Specialist will report to the Associate Director, Environmental Sustainability Center of Excellence (CoE) within Global Safety & Environment (GSE). Actionable data is critical to the success of corporate sustainability programs. This position is responsible for helping to develop environmental sustainability strategies, programs, and initiatives through the tracking of progress against, and reporting on, the company's sustainability targets - including our climate change commitments. The role will provide essential support by tracking environmental performance data, developing/implementing sustainability tools, following external reporting trends, and supporting internal and external communications regarding the company's programs and performance.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supports global efforts to achieve corporate environmental sustainability goals by aiding in the collection, quantification, and analysis of critical environmental data, including company energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) data. Collaborates with stakeholders in various business units.
- Supports external reporting and disclosures regarding the company's environmental sustainability programs and performance via the company's Impact Report, CDP Reports, regulatory reporting, and country-specific disclosures.
- Develops understanding of the environmental footprint of the company's operations, supply chain, products, and packaging by developing and implementing sustainability collection, quantification, evaluation, and reporting systems and tools, such as enterprise data systems, economic input/output modeling, carbon foot-printing evaluations, etc.
- Supports benchmarking with peer pharmaceutical companies, other industries, and non-governmental organizations to identify external trends with respect to environmental sustainability data reporting best practices.
- Represents the company at external sustainability meetings and forums.
- Recognizes evolving environmental sustainability trends, market conditions, regulatory requirements, etc. and their potential impacts on company reporting.
- Participate in cross-functional projects as assigned. Complete all milestones and assigned action items by established deadlines. Adhere to all financial commitments and processes.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Master's degree in sustainability or equivalent, or bachelor's degree with at least 2 yrs of sustainability data processing or relevant experience
- Proven data analytics skills which may include data gathering, simplification, database management, dashboard build-out, etc.
- Knowledge of global sustainability trends
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy
Desired Skills:
- Experience with development or implementation of sustainability data reporting systems
- Experience performing corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting using the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$83,100.00 - $130,900.00
