Job Description
RaDS IT Research Infrastructure Product Line (RIPL) engineering team is seeking a Senior Specialist - Laboratory IT Engineering. This position will be a member of the Laboratory IT Operations Engineering squad within RIPL.
As a member of the team, you will contribute to the strategy, design, development, implementation and maintenance of new technologies and application platforms directly supporting our Company's Research Laboratories. The Senior Specialist will collaborate with various IT teams, scientists, and external vendors to deliver operational excellence and a high quality, stable IT environment for research. You will identify and execute on opportunities to grow and improve the IT technical landscape while ensuring consistent performance of the laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work on technical pilots and feasibility studies of new opportunities to create value within our research division, and transition successful pilots to scalable production implementations.
- Partner closely with business and IT stakeholders to develop, implement and support technology solutions, and align solutions with strategic IT initiatives.
- Work closely with IT security partners to ensure cyber resiliency requirements are being satisfied throughout the labs by remediating vulnerabilities and improving overall compliance of devices.
- Focus on automation of IT processes to streamline efforts and improve efficiencies.
- Develop and enhance data integrations between multiple applications and services.
- Develop technical solutions and standards to satisfy GxP and data integrity requirements.
- Author, manage and maintain system life cycle documentation for application platforms.
- Provide system administration of multiple infrastructure systems owned by our product line.
- Contribute to the design, development and testing of scripts and tools to automate lab IT tasks.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in software engineering technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5 years work experience, with demonstrated expertise in IT solutions relevant to laboratory computer systems.
- Ability to analyze and define business problems, and to independently identify appropriate process and technology solutions.
- Strong analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills used to enable smooth laboratory IT operations.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure required to support research activities
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices / Good Manufacturing Practices
- Detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred skills:
- Solid background in working with Windows operating systems.
- Experience with supporting Linux.
- Hands on experience with Powershell and Python development.
- Experience operating and delivering in a GxP compliant manner.
- Has used Jira and Confluence in the management and tracking of agile projects.
- Experience with electronic tools for test script management and approvals.
- Familiarity with Tanium, Armis, Acronis Backup
- Pharmaceutical experience preferred but not mandatory.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$111,400.00 - $175,300.00
