Job Description:

Our Company is currently seeking exceptional chemists to join our highly collaborative Targeted Protein Degradation (TPD) team within Discovery Chemistry Department located in Rahway, New Jersey. The successful candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary discovery teams by applying innovative chemistry, analytical techniques, and data analysis to the design and synthesis of drug candidates. They will also contribute to the development and application of drug discovery chemistry platforms in the field of TPD. There is ample opportunity for knowledge expansion and career growth through collaborations with talented and dedicated colleagues across functional areas and sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a leader in the laboratory, executing chemistry to deliver on program strategy
  • Develop and utilize innovative synthetic, medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology problem solving skills to build structure-activity relationships
  • Design, synthesize, and characterize molecular glues or heterobifunctional degraders to enable target identification and validation, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization programs
  • Provide scientific mentoring and technical training of team members
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, displaying excellent interpersonal and communication skills with scientists at all levels.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate key results and enable data driven decision making.
  • Share in responsibilities to support general lab function and promote a culture of safety
  • Contribute to writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents when appropriate; thereby, establishing a significant external scientific presence
  • Establish and maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant literature
  • Work in a matrix environment to solve problems.

We are looking for professionals with the following skills to achieve our goals:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, or related scientific discipline with seven (7) years' experience.
  • Or master's degree in related fields with four (4) years' experience
  • Or PhD in related fields (received by January 2025) with 0 -2 years' experience is highly preferred

Other Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are paramount
  • Experience with scientific problem solving and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Demonstration of collaboration and a proven record of solving complex problems in a team environment
  • Candidate will have a passion for pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge and a learning mindset about adaptation of new methods
  • Must have a sense of urgency and drive to work in our cutting-edge research lab

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience in targeted protein degradation
  • Experience with molecular glues
  • Experience with cutting-edge high throughput chemistry and experimentation techniques

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:
$111,400.00 - $175,300.00
