IT Technology Partner, Discovery Preclinical Translational Medicine (Hybrid)
Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new business organizational capabilities. We partner internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help our Company to be more productive and enable innovation. This role will partner with our Discovery Preclinical Transitional Medicine (DPTM) organization to ensure interpretation of business strategy to IT strategy, translation of relevant communication to business and IT functions, and development of strategic digital roadmaps.
The successful candidate will partner with the business to streamline efficiency and create agility to meet the evolving needs of our portfolio as well as seek and implement opportunities for extracting value from data through predictive modeling and AI/ML. The incumbent will function as an IT Site Lead, where they will be responsible for overseeing and managing a specific site's IT systems to ensure they are functioning effectively, efficiently, and securely in alignment with overall IT strategy. A key element of success will be linking end-to-end business strategy and process to our technical solutions, eliminating functional silos, simplifying our system footprint, and negotiating for investment in the highest priority opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Align with Business leadership across DPTM to understand and influence business strategic outcomes in alignment with divisional strategies; Track quantifiable indicators of success and plans to execute, including appropriate approaches to change management, business adoption, and value realization.
- Build strong cross functional relationships with various business stakeholders and IT teams, applying expertise to resolve complex scientific technology and data problems.
- As IT site lead: Meet regularly with site operations team and stay up to date with operations, approve and communicate major IT updates and events at site, address onsite IT requests and issues by coordinating with the appropriate IT teams.
- Stay current with industry trends to identify emerging areas of focus and opportunities that can benefit from technology enablement, including deep learning and generative AI.
- Partner with Research and Development Sciences (RaDS) IT Head of Product and Product Line Leads to translate business strategy and goals to product capability roadmaps, negotiating tradeoffs and staging to maximize value, and ensuring solutions are adopted and deliver the expected business outcomes.
- Communicate IT strategy and portfolio to key stakeholders in DPTM and IT. Encourage a digital mindset and adoption of digital innovation initiatives. Be a change agent for new digital capabilities.
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Life Science
- MBA or PhD preferred.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 5 years prior experience in Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems & Application or Solution Architectures or related IT environment.
- Understanding of the Research and Development and or DPTM business area. Familiar with the interdependence of data flows and engagement on projects across therapeutic and functional areas. Demonstrated ability to articulate strategy, translate to technology roadmaps, and influence enterprise technology strategy.
- Understanding of the existing IT portfolio of systems and products. Understanding of the external technology landscape and the impact and value to Research and Development / DPTM and our Company.
- Strong critical thinking skills with a pragmatic approach to addressing challenges and negotiating collaborative approaches to
- shared outcomes.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills- able to effectively communicate complex concepts in simple ways, and influence stakeholders to achieve focus on highest value opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and networks (internally and externally). Viewed as a credible and trusted partner.
- Understanding of the business workflows across the DPTM / Development interface for pharmaceuticals.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Data strategy experience.
- Prior programming experience
- Experience with AI/ML, genomics, research information systems, lab automation.
- Business process design & change management knowledge.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$101,100.00 - $159,100.00
