The Associate Scientist position under the guidance of Laboratory Animal Manager and Director will provide study support and world class animal care to impact drug development and discovery and improve human health. Study support may include:

  • Performing Animal Handling
  • Compound Administration (All routes)
  • In-Life Sampling
  • Necropsy Sampling and Tissue Collection
  • Animal Health Observation and Data Collection
  • Research Equipment Use and Maintenance
  • Pre, Peri, and Post-Operative Surgical Care

Responsibilities include understanding and executing in vivo studies including collaborating with researchers, monitoring and maintaining equipment, assist with surgical animal care, perform animal health checks including some weekends and holidays, provide supportive husbandry care on some weekends and holidays including room checks and addressing urgent facility concerns, engage in safety inspections and provide insights for safety initiatives, learn new procedures as needed.

The ideal candidate should be team oriented, value workplace collaboration and can work with minimal supervision.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • High School diploma with 0-5 years' experience in a Research in-vivo field OR
  • BS and 2+ years of hands-on in vivo research experience

Preferred:

  • 3+ years' experience in a Research in vivo field, including experience with basic animal handling, compound administration, blood collection, anesthesia, and/or tissue collection
  • AAALAS certification
