Job Description

The Product Manager, Research Storage and Compute is responsible for developing and implementing storage and compute solutions to support Bio-Pharma Research needs. Storage and compute solutions enabled by this product will support majority of the workflows needed for discovery, preclinical research and product development for clinical supply. Usage of the solutions span from scientific simulations including Grace and Gaussian to data intensive simulations using AI/ML and deep learning.

Product Manager will work closely with research stakeholders to understand their needs, define and groom backlog, and enable solutions in an agile fashion. This will lead a cross-functional team of product analysts and engineers to architect, engineer and implement solutions to support the stakeholder needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with research stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable backlog items.
  • Define and groom backlog to enable development of solutions in an agile fashion.
  • Develop storage and compute solutions to meet the specific needs of the Bio-Pharma Research teams
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the product, aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Be accountable for the total cost of ownership of solutions and services in the product, ensuring cost-effective and efficient solutions.
  • Make investment decisions based on the value generated for the users, balancing business needs and user requirements.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of product analysts and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and services.
  • Ensure configuration and health of multiple components in a predominantly Linux environment in AWS.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the dynamic environment, taking proactive measures to address any issues that arise.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.

Required experience:

  • 8-10 years' experience directly related to operation and support of scientific computing platforms
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding and hands-on engineering experience in cloud storage and compute solutions.
  • Excellent understanding of High-Performance computing and its applications in biopharma research.
  • Proven experience working with research stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable backlog items.
  • Experience developing product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Experience implementing, scripting, and operating cloud-based infrastructure, preferably in AWS.
  • Proficiency in configuring, administering, and maintaining components in a predominantly Linux environment.
  • Experience in ensuring reliability, availability, and performance of dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with GPU computing and AWS technologies
  • Experience managing HPC environment with PBS Pro, Univa/Grid Engine, Kubernetes, Nextflow, or others
  • Experience with container technologies
  • Experience with Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology and Scientific Programming
  • Knowledge of the drug discovery process

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected US salary range:
$135,500.00 - $213,400.00
