The Future Talent Program within the Research and Development Division Data, AI, and Genome Sciences (DAGS) Department is offering co-op opportunities that last a period of six months. There are two positions in the Precision Genetics group. Candidates can apply for the opportunity to be involved in a computational project designed to enable students to further develop their skills and to evaluate if we are the right company for their long-term goals. We are seeking highly motivated and talented students with computational skills and experience.

Precision Genetics (2 positions, preferred in person Cambridge MA, will consider remote):
- Build and maintain large-scale genetics and genomics datasets (e.g., GWAS, cell-type QTL, epigenetics, and Hi-C data) to be incorporated into various pipelines.
- Implementation of latest published statistical and computational methods to improve statistical power and computational efficiency in statistical genetics analyses.
- Assist with development of a scalable causal gene identification pipeline designed to generate high-confidence gene lists for target identification and prioritization by integrating multiple existing computational pipelines and data types.
Required Education and Skills:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's degree program in Biological Sciences or a related field of study. Students enrolled in graduate programs (MS or PhD) are highly encouraged to apply.
- Candidates must be available to work full-time for 6 months in 2024.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Candidates must have excellent academic achievement and analytical ability.
- Candidates must have demonstrated superior communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Candidates may have interests/experience in ANY of the fields of molecular biology, immunology, oncology, cell biology, neuroscience, or bioinformatics.
- For this computational project, specific skill sets could include one or more of the following: experience with R or Python programming languages, analysis of bulk or single cell datasets.
Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$39,600.00-$105,500.00
